The Speech Pathologist provides differential diagnosis of speech and language disorders and provides appropriate therapeutic intervention to maximize communication ability. Active participation is required in department in-services and educational programs. The Speech-Language Pathologist consults with, advises, reports to and is responsible to the Manager of Speech-Language Pathology.
Applicants must be able to provide evidence of the evaluation and diagnosis of Speech/Language for patients of all ages, from pediatric to adult. Experience designing and implementing individual and group treatment programs as well as the ability to counsel patients and their families concerning social, behavioral and psychological problems associated with communication disorders. Demonstrable experience providing thorough documentation of test data and a patient's speech/language progress as well as making recommendations and referrals to appropriate health, educational and vocational sources is also required.
We seek a SLP who has participated in patient conferences and has regularly communicated with individual membes of medical staff concerning patient treatment.
Requires a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and six to twelve months of related experience.

Position Description: Under the direct
supervision of the Special Education Supervisor,
and inaccordance with the established policies
and procedures of teh Ingham Intermediate School
District, the Speech-Language Pathologist is
responsible for providing supportive services
for eligible students enrolled in regular,
vacational, or special edcuation programs.
The Speech Pathologist will focus on student
evaluation, provision of direct and indirect
therapy services, and collaborative consultation
with staff, parents, agency personnel and

Qualifications:
Full approval as a Michigan Teacher of the Speech and Language Impaired or Speech-Language Pathologist Certicate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.

Performance Responsibilities:
Participates in problem-solving teams to lend expertise in planning for students who are struggling academically.
Facilitates teachers and parents in observing, describing and referring suspected speech and language impairments with students.
Provides comprehensive speech and language evaluation of students referred for suspected speech and language impairments through the IEP Evaluation Review process.
Provides data regarding a student's present level of performance and writes measurable goals to address student needs.
Monitors student progress toward goals on a regular basis and adjusts therapy/interventions as needed to insure positive student outcomes.
Serves as a member or coordinator of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team to provide and interpret the assessment of speech and language skills in determining appropriate placement in special education programs/service for eligible students.
Works collaboratively with teachers, parents and other special education staff working with eligible students.
Provides information to teachers and parents regarding speech and language development and impairments, programs, services and early literacy.
Coordinates with community agencies and resources regarding information that will support the family, child and school.
Develops or participates in an IEP for each eligible student on an annual basis.
Manintains records as required for Medicaid billing.
Completes and maintains documentation of services provided in accordance with district policies and procedures.
Assumes such other related responsibilities as assigned by the Special Education Supervisor.
Working Conditions:
The Speech Pathologist will be based at Delhi
Commerce Building and be provided office space.
Therapy is provided in educational settings as
determined by an IEP team, and requires
transport of materials to these settings.
This position requires daily travel, for which
the staff member must provide transportation.
This position will interface with LEA and IISD
staff, community child care/preschool providers,
agencey personnel, and medical providers.
